He greets you at the door almost every time (sometimes he’s napping). All he wants is some pets. He has recently developed the adorable habit of coming into the bedroom to meow good night when we put each of our daughters to bed. He’s always been a good cat, but recently he’s mellowed significantly. Honestly, we could not ask for a better pet. He’s such a good boy, and so patient with our girls.

Also, I really need to finish this damn kitchen already.

My Scooby always meets me and walks me to the door when I come home from work.  It’s a little thing that makes me happy.

One of my uncle s did a kitchen renovation that took several years to finish. The year that he had started it, they told us all about it when they came out to visit. They came back a couple of years later, and every time the word kitchen was mentioned in any context , his wife and 10 year-old d aughter would interject and shout “is still not done!” in unison.

Good kitty! I think I’m going to get a cat eventually. I grew up with dogs and love them but I’ll probably be in an apartment after college and think a cat would be a better fit for my lifestyle. Plus I really like them when I get to be around them.

I call shenanigans on that cat! All it does is growl and hiss at you; I declare it defective. And instead of finishing your kitchen this weekend how about you ride scooters with the Born to be Mild gang? Remember, s cooters = fun, while your cat = not scooters.

I like dogs, but cats are so much easier to take care of. Somebody tried to foist a dog on me after college. I lived in a 3rd floor walk up apartment, and was gone 12 hours a day. Frankly, it would have been cruel of me to take the dog.

Yay! I lo ve dogs, but now that we have a cat, they come first in my eyes. My brother got home before me (only one home) and I came home a bit later. Our cat, Tazz is my buddy and apparently heard my car coming (I always back up the driveway and manual transmission means straight- cut reverse whine)...the cat knows the sound my car makes and came running to the door, tail straight up, and waited for me until I came in . :)

Agreed, I love dogs to death...our grandparents had German Shepherds growing up...beautiful dogs, but cats are so much easier to take care of in a busy life and  can be just as loving in their own ways :)

Exactly! I didn’t have one growing up but have cat sat before and like all of the ones my relatives and friends own.

According to our babysitter, Hammer can hear when we pull my truck into the driveway as well, because he apparently always makes a beeline for the back door right before we walk in the door.
